A herritage project to capture the real life stories of survivors from the Vietnam war and life after. The project helped to facilitate and provoke dialogue among the Vietnamese community and the wider public. The project engaged with young Vietnamese participants, who were trained and equipped to conduct interviews, transcribe and edit. Participants were involved in the formation of the final booklet, DVD and website. An exhibition and launch accompanied the project (produced and curated by Anna Nguyen) with live performance. pop up viet cafe

A pop up cafe run and lead by the community to fundraise and promote culture. The cafe appeared at a number of events held at the Deptford Lounge and attracted an overwhelming number of customers, both the wider public and the Vietnamese. The pop up cafe offered a friendly, warm and familiar space for the Vietnamese community to gather, promoting both social cohesion and reducing isolation.

The pop up cafe has enabled the community to build strong relationships with local organisations, which have gone on to support the community with future events.
